September 5, 2018 Colonia Board of Fire Commissioners Regular Meeting

The Regular meeting of the Colonia Board of Fire Commissioners took place at the Colonia Firehouse on September 5, at 7:35 pm. The meeting was called to order by Board President Ray Hughes followed by a moment of silence for departed members.

Notice of the meeting was advertised in the Home News Tribune and the Asbury Park Press and at Town Hall.

Commissioners present: Joe Fugaro, Bill Stellmach, Ed Sheehan, Bill Higgins, and Ray Hughes

Chief

Percentages are downstairs. List will be going on wall after meeting of those who the Chief needs to speak with.

October 7 is Colonia Pride day. The parade will end at the firehouse.

Working on getting dual response for Wildwood this year. Avenel is not doing it this year. Chief will check with District #11.

Treasurer’s Report, Commissioner Fugaro

Motion was made by Commissioner Sheehan and seconded by Commissioner Higgins to accept the Treasurer’s report. Motion passed.

Buildings and Grounds, Commissioner Higgins

Commissioner Stellmach will make sure there is enough elevation regarding the issue with the drain going from the lot under the pavers to the sidewalk and if there is he will get in touch with a contractor to fix it.

Commissioner Sheehan will look into the Chief’s car computer after the weather breaks with the heat.

Explorer issue was taken care of.

Went over items during agenda meeting.

Purchasing, Commissioner Hughes

Hose should be here in a week or two.

Gloves were ordered.

A motion was made by Commissioner Higgins and seconded by Commissioner Sheehan to purchase cabinets. Two new ones for the seniors. Seven heavy duty cabinets and two wardrobe for uniform committee. Amount needs to be under $5,000.00 under state contract.

New Business

Commissioner Sheehan gave new list of things that need to be done around the building to the day crew.

Firefighter Giardina gave a grant update.
