June 6, 2018 Colonia Board of Fire Commissioners Regular Meeting

The Regular meeting of the Colonia Board of Fie Commissioners took place at the Colonia Firehouse on June 8,2018 at 7:45 pm. The meeting was called to order by Board President Ray Hughes followed by moment of silence for departed members.

Notice of the meeting was advertised in the Home news Tribune and the Asbury Park Press and at Town Hall.

Commissioners present: Bill Higgins, Jr. Ray Hughes, Joe Fugaro, Ed Sheehan, Bill Stellmach

Chief not present

Treasurer's Report (See attached)

A motion to accept treasurer's report was made by Commissioner Higgins, Sr. and seconded by Commissioner Hughes. Motion passed by a unanimous vote.

There was some discussion about when Ed Mullen transfers large amounts of money all Board Members are aware of this prior to any transfers.

Fire Prevention, Schleck

Schleck has been talking to the architect about the new bank going on Inman and Jordan. Discussion has been about the amount of exit doors.

Rich Hanley took care of the permits for the 75th Anniversary.

Building and Grounds, Commissioner Higgins, Jr.

Silent Companion is fixing the duct smoke detector.

Still waiting for the key fobs for the first aid squad.

Discussed the floor tile and voted on going with the glue down at a cost of $12,700.00.

Motion was made by Commissioner Stellmach and seconded by Commissioner Fugaro to go with the glue down tile. Motion passed by a unanimous vote.

Discussed at agenda meeting.

Old Business

Voted to get a new radiator for approximately $1,000.00 for 12-6. Motion was made by Commissioner Stellmach and seconded by Commissioner Fugaro. Motion unanimously passed.

Commissioners will go over new turn out gear needed with the Chief.

Commissioners voted on the contract for the emergency generator.

The commissioners are looking to hire a consultant with the purchase of the new computer system. Bill Schleck will look into the requirements needed.

Tony G is filling out an application for the grant money from FM Global.

Commissioners are going to help with the transportation costs for the explorers going for one week of training.

Motion to adjourn the meeting was made by Commissioner Higgins, Jr. and seconded by Commissioner Stellmach at 8:15 pm. Motion passed by a unanimous vote.
