June 7. 2017 Colonia Colonia Board of Fire Commissioners Regular Meeting

The regular meeting of the Colonia Board of Fire Commissioners took place at the Colonia Firehouse on June 7, 2017 at 7:30 pm. The meeting was called to order by Board President Ray Hughes followed by a moment of silence for departed members.

Notice of the meeting was advertised in the Home news Tribune and the Asbury Park Press and at Town Hall.

Commissioners present: Ray Hughes, Bill Higgins, Jr, Bill Stellmach, Joe Fugaro Ed Sheehan

Chiefs Report

Percentages are still being completed.

The Chief passed out the Explorer's guidelines.

Officer's want to purchase a desk top computer instead of the lap top. Motion was made and approved to have Ed Timmes come in and look to upgrade the desk top instead of a lap top.

Fire Prevention

498 Inman Ave will be getting some alarms. The Fire Inspector will keep the Chief abreast of the progress.

The adapters on the hydrant at the rear of the condor are going to be changed.

St. John Vianney fair will be in July instead of June.

Explorers - Need to look into the funds for the explorers. The Ohio trip is not branching out to Cranford in addition to Colonia explorers and district explorer members. Look to see if there are alternate places to go instead of Ohio.

Treasurer's Report Commissioner Fugaro

A motion was made by Commissioner Sheehan and seconded by Commissioner Higgins to accept the Treasurers Report. Motion was passed.

Buildings and Grounds, Commissioner Higgins

The leak was fixed downstairs. The faucet/pipe was fixed at the SQAD.

Commissioner Stellmach made a motion and Commissioner Sheehan seconded it to go with Paragan Mills for the flooring in a grey color.

Need to discuss bureau problem.

Discussed the adjustment that needs to be made on wipers and plug on 12-3-3.

Engine for E. Orange is still a go. Waiting for their budget to be approved.
