May 3,  2017 Colonia Board of Fire Commissioners Agenda Meeting

The agenda meeting of the Colonia Board of Fire Commissioners took place at the Colonia Firehouse on May 3, 2017 at 7:30 pm. The meeting was called to order by Board President Ray Hughes followed by a moment of silence for departed members.

Notice of the meeting was advertised in the Home news Tribune and the Asbury Park Press and at Town Hall.

Commissioners present: Ray Hughes, Bill Higgins, Jr, Bill Stellmach, Joe Fugaro Eddie Sheehan

Buildings and Grounds. Commissioner Higgins. Jr.

The urinal in the men's room is having a problem with the automatic flush. It flooded the downstairs. There was no damage. Commissioner Higgins will be calling tomorrow to have it fixed.

Commissioner Higgins will go over the construction for the kitchen and handicap bathroom at the Regular meeting.

Need to look at getting flooring at the First Aid Squad. Tiles would probably be better. It would cost $5,000.00 more for carpet. Looking into getting more prices.

Commissioner Higgins will be reaching out to Alfredo to come and plant flowers and clean up the weeds and rocks.

The bay door at the first aid Squad would not open when using the clicker. It has been fixed.

Water and Hydrants. Commissioner Stellmach

Still waiting for the readings back from the Water Company regarding water flow for Heritage.

Insurance. Commissioner Hughes

The new radios are in service. One of the radios needs to be re-programmed.


There is a problem with the radio in the Chiefs truck.

Trucks and Equipment. Commissioner Hughes for Commissioner Sheehan

12-1 is in service. The old 12-1 will be sold to Orange.

All the cars were serviced.

Bar lights needs to be done. Mike was called on it.

Purchasing. Commissioner Hughes

The E-tools and brackets were ordered.

Old Business

Received the final plans back from Mike Tests. Waiting to hear back from Braslow. Started getting kitchen quotes back for kitchen equipment. The quotes are coming back under budget.

Three bays need to be stripped down to the concrete. Need to decide if we want to change colors.

New Business

A motion was made by Commissioner Sheehan and seconded by Commissioner Higgins to adjourn the meeting at 7:47 pm. Motion passed.

A motion to adjourn the meeting at 7:44 pm was made by Commissioner Higgins and seconded by Commissioner Fugaro. Motion passed.
